6/23/2018 12:34:45 PMMaltby: Next time you hit the same water on the big lake with your grandsons, instead of using the Sling Blade with a Wedding Ring, try a Ace-Hi Fly Junior #344 Blue Spatter Back or the Old Goat OG2-2.8 with blue/black scaling (requires hook modification from salmon to trout size) . I think you will find those two lures to be more attractive to the larger size Cutthroat in the big lake as those lures better imitate the bait fish the Cutthroat feed upon. Just my suggestion, tight lines and good luck.

6/23/2018 4:45:12 PMMaltby: One other comment I will pass on to you is that if you don't hit fish in the area somewhat south of McAleer Creek, swing over to the other side of the lake and somewhat south and do a troll between Campaign Point and Juanita Point. That area can be very good at times too. The bottom line is that you need to find the concentration of the bait fish and that's where you will find the Cutthroat. The two lure offerings that I previously identified for you should work well. I've never used the Old Goat lure, however, a fishing friend tells me its equally as good as the Ace-Hi Fly in the size and color pattern that I had suggested to you.

6/23/2018 10:15:29 PMHeck almost sounds like a 5 star day to me!! Nice job. Always good to get the skunk off. Another good troll in the north end besides the two sharphooks mentioned, Juanita Bay all the way south along the east shoreline to Hunts Pt. Moss Bay (Kirkland waterfront) can be really productive. If you research NWFR Lk Washington look for DJ Butler reports for tips in this area. Tight lines.
