We got the lake around 4 and started looking for the Macks and Burbot on our sonar. We could only consistently find schools of Kokanee so we switched gears and targeted them instead. After removing the 6" swimbait that looked like a Kokanee, and replacing with with a dodger and Apex Kokanee Killer, we hooked up with a 14lb 34" Mackinaw. He put up a great fight but in the end he was welcomed aboard the boat, and invited to lunch the next day. Watch the video below to follow along in our adventure.

Schools of Kokanee were abundant, but the mackinaw and burbot were a little harder to find. We did manage 2 8 to 10" kokanee the next day but that was it.

I didn't see a float on that net. Are you going to donate another one to the depths?

Hey, Great report. There Kokanee looked a little smaller than the last couple years. But the still taste Great. Don't Tell to many people, I have never seen more than 2 boats on that lake at the same time. It's a gem!!

Hi Aaron, thanks for the report. Haven't been to Bead since I was a kid. The drone pics are cool along with the great pics of the Mac! Tight lines

Great report Aaron. I love Bead lake, went there a lot when the old Crystal resort still had a public way to get on the lake. A lot of good memories.

I see you used an Old Goat lure. Is the the smaller OG1 or the larger OG2?
