I fished Lake Chelan three days this past week. We fished every day above Gold Cr. at some point during the day. First day we started above Gold Cr in 900 ft of water and caught a fair amount of fish. We moved into 200-250 ft of water later in the morning. To my surprise there were pods of Kokanee hanging out there. As the day grew longer Mother Nature decided she was boss and the wind kicked up causing us to take green water over the bow at trolling speeds. Conceding, we moved down to Mitchell Cr. where we fished in the middle of the lake in 900ft of water and finished out our day.
Second day we did the exact opposite of the first day with exact opposite results. First stopped at Mitchell Cr caught a few, but it seemed the fish had moved on. We moved up to Gold Cr, started in shallow to find the Kokanee were still there. With the wind being more manageable we finished our day at Gold Cr.
Third day, after talking to anther fellow guide, I decided to try down lake. Catching Kokanee in the middle of the lake tells me the fish are on the move!! I started across from the State Park where I marked several pods of Kokanee. We fished the early morning here before going above Gold Cr to finish the day. There was no need to go to Gold Cr except to show my clients more spots to fish.
The lake is on the rise and that means the Kokanee will be moving to the lower basin. I still have some great dates available. Contact me to reserve your date for an adventure that you will remember for a lifetime.

That looks like a good couple days. Thank you for the insight on where to start now. Now it is up to me to convince the wife she wants to fish Chelan next instead of the smaller water Specticle out of Tonasket. I like the limits on Chelan and those are some nice looking kokes!
