I have been denied the opportunity to fish the past 3-4 weekends due to either major wind, or major rain, snow, or some domestic disaster.
Anyway, reached out to fellow NWFR member, TMBob, and suggested we hit the water.

Met Bob at the lake, the wind was manageable, the rain was fairly constant, and it was 36 degrees, so pretty darn cold!
Sometimes when I head out to a new place, etc. I wind up taking TONS of gear, and accessories. This time I was fishing via a Pram that I picked up awhile back, but have only fished out of it maybe twice. Being a shorter trailer than my Lund, I wound up feeling sort of unprepared, and did not wear waders/boots. Thus had to back far into the lake, and thanks to Bob for walking in with his waders and dealing with boat/trailer.
Anyway on to the fishing.. Like I said, I showed up with a boat load of gear, Sonar, down rigger, electric motor, oars, DSLR, etc. Bob hands me a gold colored flatfish, and that's it! That was all I fished all day. Of course, due to my misunderstanding something with the rigging, I kind of botched the rigging. The first 3 hours I did not have a single bite! (how do you botch rigging a flatfish for trolling??)
Bob hands me a particular leader/swivel, and BAM! Fish to hand. I pulled in 3 fish pretty quickly in that last hour.

Meanwhile Bob is bringing in 11-12 Bows and Cutts. regularly A couple of smallish ones in the 14" range I think he said. The remainder of them were PIGS. 16-20" and FAT with shoulders. We trolled these flatfish via oaring. About 75+ feet behind the boat. These fish hit like trains. The would come out of the water 2-3x for gorgeous displays.

When I came off the water for a sandwich, suddenly the air temp caught up with me, and I was freezing, had to call it a day.

Thanks for breaking me out of the winter doldrums, Bob. It was great to fish with another NWFR member, and for sharing a great morning.
Although it took me 3 hours to bring these 3 fish to hand, they were amazing fish, and considering his own day of fishing, I still rate it a 4 star day for me.

Yea, the weather was not the best yesterday Chris...by the way, which weather report said sunny as you memntjoned to me? Palm Desert?

You were a trooper to stay that long with no rain pants. My hands were very cold from wet gloves but some fresh ones and some car heat helped get me back ont9 the water only to see tye craziest weather of the day hit us as you were loading up and me trying to catch that “last one”!

It was awesome that you gave it a go yesterday on short notice. Glad that you were able to Hook a few because I was getting worried about you early on. Figured you would out fish me with that red hot lure.

The fish in the pics are not what we caught yesterday....sorry Chris, again we were not on the same page. I caught those earlier in the month but they seemed to quit biting since the last two weeks of cold weather. Only one Cutthroat yesterday and it was beat up male. The rest are Bows that are about 14” to 16” long with some chunk to them.

Nice Pram Chris......we will do it again sometime soon. Thanks for the company.

I had some trouble with pics going from my cell phone to the computer. 3-4 did not go across. Lost track of what was what. If you report, post them up. I believe that last fish was even better than what I posted

Yesterday had a little of everything at my house. Rain, snow, thunder, hail, sleet, sun, you name it. Congrats on those gorgeous fish. My next week off I am for sure getting my license and getting out, crappy weather or not.
