MA8-2 was good to us on Friday. Caught this pretty one, just a hair under 8lbs, in Elger Bay/Camano Isl St Pk area.

Planned on fishing Possession but the wind gods said otherwise so headed north. Tried the harbor just north of the Clinton ferry launch and up around the corner. Shaker shaker shaker, so headed for Elger Bay. Glad we did. Started at the 8-1/8-2 border and trolled east past the launch and around into the bay, last of outgoing tide, slack tide and incoming tide. Couple almost keepers and a bunch of little guys. Lost a nice one right at the net (again!!!) and finally got this beauty in the boat.

Old Goat OG2 w/twinkleskirt and Red Racer flasher in 65 FOW right off Camano Isl St Pk.

Fish are feeding on candlefish. Think its pretty easy to see why the Old Goat OG2 has been so effective this winter. Sure looks like a candlefish to me.

Judging from reports the water must have calmed down in MA9 cause there sure were some pretty fish caught out there also! Six month shutdown looks like it did the trick to me.
