The good news is there are lots of fish out there. The bad news is the keepers seem to be few and far between.
We fished Kingston area north of the ferry dock, outgoing tide, and Presidents Pt, incoming tide. Non stop action. Lots of fish in the 18-20 inch range, and the usual number of little guys. Have to admit even though most of the fish were sub legal they sure are feisty and fun to catch. We did manage to catch one keeper and lost of couple more that felt pretty darn nice.
Old Goats OG2's in the blue/black and green/pink were good and FlashyFish lures also produced well, both 42" behind flashers in the pic. Two very different types of lures. The Old Goats OG2 is a great candlefish/needlefish imitation and the FlashyFish lures are a great herring imitation. Phenomenal lure action on both. Just started using the FlashyFish lures and have to say I really like them. The Old Goats OG2 has been a very consistent producer and have been my go to lure for the last year. But think the FlashFish lures are going to give them a run for their money.
Fish were feeding on small, red label size, herring. 80-120 FOW and 65-85 on the cable.
FISH ON and tight lines.
