Geez, not sure why to even write a 1 star report, lol. But what a weird day on the water.
Finally had an opportunity to fish Lake WA. with another person from this website, and a good friend. I'm well familiar with the cutt fishery here, but not out for awhile.
Launched out of Magnusson about 0830. I had told that there was fog called for in the forecast. Fog has never been an issue to me, that much. Yes, on Puget Sound it may be present early at the time of launch, but it burns off quickly, in my experience.
When we launched, I'd say we had 40' of visibility! Pulled out there, got DR's setup, and proceeded to try and get to Moss bay.
I had to use the mapping program full time on my Humminbird 798. It was extremely difficult to keep a heading in the right direction, etc. Wound up in Yarrow Bay, lol! All along the way, suddenly large boaters going to Husky stadium would SUDDENLY show up in view. I had to keep the air horn in one hand, and give them a quick blast to announce ourselves. Between eyes peeled on visibility, and eyes looking for land, and monitory depth vs. DR. depth, it was a CLUSTER!
Oh, Fishing report?
I believe my buddy had a small fish on once, as his rod was dancing, still in clip. Fish gone on the reel in. The rest of the time it was silent.
We fished Shasta sling blades, hootchies, God's Tooth, and small spoons.
If you get anything out of my worthless fishing report, take the point of being, that you cannot say enough about having a sound making device on your vessel. Besides being part of the law, it came into HUGE play today. (-:
Oh, and maybe in the drop down bar for, 'What method was successfull' Mike or Aaron could add, "Nothing"
