I got to the parking lot of the Dash Point fishing pier about 6:30am. There were several parking spaces still available. This isn’t the way I remember it in previous pink years. One had to be in line about 5:30am to get a parking space. As I left at 2:00pm there was a couple trying to find a place. There were several families enjoying the little park which may be why there was lack of parking at this time. It was supposed to be upper 80’s low 90’s today but out on the water the breeze/wind made it feel cool enough I went and got a coat to put on.

Low tide was at 4:28 AM 1.8 feet. High was 11:06 AM 9.2 feet. There were fish being caught from when I got there. I put on 3 different jigs and a spinner before I put on the “ONE” (DPS 1 variant) and first cast I see a follow that I just keep jigging until I hooked it. When I brought it home I weighed it at 4.5 pounds.
Then the lull came about 8:30.

Kim (pink pole) is thinking of changing her name to “lose a jig” She loses more jigs than anyone I know. She hooked a fish and comes back with empty line. She had me tie another one, DPS 2, for her that was successful a few hours later.

Others saw schools of 6 or 7 fish at a time. I only saw the one I got and 2 that were only interested in each other as they played past Kim and my jigs.

We use to see schools of 20’s to 100’s at a time. I hope enough make it back to give up a better season in 2 years.

Isn't Brown's pt the place to be on the big incoming of the day? Pinks aren't thick though I agree, maybe tides approaching full moon will draw in bigger schools from farther North.
