I took my son Jeremy, and my nephew Kalen east of the mountains this weekend to teach them to fly fish. We started at Fio Rito. I am pretty sure there are still plenty of trout in there, but they were not biting. We trolled around in the float tubes and caught many small bass (4 - 7 inchers). It was great practice for the kids because the small bass weren't much of a challenge for the beginning fly fisherman. We fished for about two hours then went to Lenore (too windy), then went to Jameson where we proceeded to catch and release about twenty very feisty 11 to 14 inch trout between the three of us in two hours of fishing. The kids are officially hooked on fly fishing.
