Today was the earliest I've been on the lake - mainly to avoid the heat. Started off with my normal wedding ring set up, had a couple hits but nothing on the hook. Switched to a perch pattern God's Tooth. Had two at the boat but they decided not to be a part of my fish count today, one was a very nice cut.

Moved to another part of the lake, rigged up a green hoochie tipped with a worm behind Ford Fender. Hooked a very nice fish, but he spit the hook out as well. Had a lot of action before getting the 2nd fish in the boat trolling back to the docks.

Spent the day fishing between 40-55 feet of water. I'm surprised to see so many at 25 and 30 feet - couldn't get any to bite at those depths. Would have stayed longer and gone for perch but it was just too hot for any more fishing.

Havent had much luck out there fishing for cutts lately, gonna have to get back out there! Ive found that the shallower fish tend to be very small cutts (8-10 inches), but I havent been out there trolling for about a month. Hope to see ya out there, Good luck! (i'm in a blue 16 ft lund w/ downriggers)
