Well after a three year dry spell I finally broke it. I spent about four hours out on the water and ended up with a nice 19 inch pink. Super thrilled. Caught 4 or 5 little shakers. Just using a buzz bomb. Either way it was a great day to be out. Just remember the pinks are coming.

I hope you were not fishing from a boat, as MA9 is closed to all fishing from boats, Only shore fishing is OK.

Nope, I was on land. I have a habit of checking the regs prior to leaving the house.

What? That is a crazy rule. The Regs always leave me scratching my head

Just though I'd check and put it out there for those who don't check Regs. And I agree about scratching our heads. Have fun.

According to a game warden that I talked to, there is no restrictions on cutthroat trout..... So you can fish from a floating device for cuts....MA9, MA8-2, MA8-1

You can also fish for greenling, cabezon, and other food fish from a boat but if you hook a salmon you would be required to release it. My question is can a guy boat into a shoreline, get out and fish from the beach, and legally possess a pink or hatchery coho in the boat to transport back to the boat launch.

fishindude - This was asked on facebook and wdfw said you can use your boat to travel to a beach, fish, then return home. You cannot fish on your way back to the launch (crab, fish for flounder or cutthroat) as you would be in possession of an illegal catch if you do. Link is here if you use facebook: https://www.facebook.com/WDFWPolice/photos/a.278085895582361.68686.220381881352763/1528862743837997/?type=3&theater

Thanks scraig, that was probably my post you saw LOL. Glad I got clarification on it. Makes the pill easier to swallow now that I know I can still use the boat to go to a secluded shoreline and cast!
