Colleague and I headed to Sammamish. Told me he goes fishing at Yakima and stuff. Turns out, only for sturgeon and doesn't even have a rod/reel or know how to tie fishing knots. *sigh*

Busted out the extra rod for him to use. Tied on a swimbait . A bit windy on the lake, with cloud cover. Was hoping to use my topwater, but the conditions just isn't right. Too many ripples. I start burning a swimbait and crankbait combo too.

Feel the nips from small fishies. After about 30 mins of no fish, we boated near the sunken forest, since it looked like it might have a bit of cover along that shoreline. Yes, a little bit of protection from the hill. Started working that shoreline. I was able to use my topwater lure for a bit. I caught a couple of dinks along this area. Got to camp beach thingy and pulled away further up the lake. There was a big group(30+) of kids coming down the hill to play on the beach and air toys.

The wind died down slightly, but there's still a strong breeze. We started pounding the west shoreline. Finally get a decent just barely 2# SMB on the DS. Caught a few more 1# dinks and smaller. Buddy finally sticks a strike and pulls in his first bass in forever. A little 10-12", but a fish is a fish.

Boated back to the east side and started hammering a few more spots. Caught several more 1# and smaller.

When it's all said and done, I believe I caught 9 bass, 2 of them were LMB. Only 1 of them over 2#, and a few 1-2#, and mostly dinks. Buddy caught 3, 2 of them dink, 1 of them about 1.75#. Had to grind it out the first 2 hours or so, then finally started getting some bites. Fished for 4.5 hours today.
