I had fun this weekend chasing Chinook. This time of year I focus on waters between Priest Rapids and Chief Joseph Dams. I had guests both am and pm and had good success all weekend. We retained 10 keepers in two days and hooked up on a total of 28 fish. With the closure of sockeye I am pleased with the high percentage of hatchery kings we are able to keep. Summer run salmon are definitely one of the highlights of my year. Especially due to their hard fight and great flavor.

Saturday was by far my most productive day. We fished A combination of super baits both in original and cut plug. The Seahawk cut plug tends to be my go to Lure but we caught fish on several other colors as well. Super baits fished behind pro troll Dodgers accounted for all of our fish. These were caught between 15 and 19 feet.

I have several openings for this great fishery and can accommodate groups of 2-4. Am or pm trips are both options. Feel free to contact me for more info, or check our services out on facebook.

Yes on the full size cut plug. I tend to start with a 4' leader. Remember this is just one piece of the puzzle that can change daily. Color, leader length, troll speed, trolling depth, and scent are all equally important. Be observant( binoculars not nessecary). If the last 5 fish you saw boated came on a green pro troll you may want to be sure you have at least on on the water. Some days I have observed that most of the fish caught were on supers with 6' leaders. My point is to observe and adapt, or fish how you always fish and wait until your number gets called. It works either way.
