Went out with a buddy last Thursday. Little bumpy, little breezy but really nice day. We fished the south end, tip of Mercer Isl and mouth of the Cedar Rvr. I did real well in those two areas a couple weeks ago and thought would see if I could get two in a row. You never know on Lk Washington.
We couldnt buy a bite off south tip of Mercer Isl but found the fish off the Cedar Rvr in about 80 feet of water. Couple weeks ago the 1.8" pink Old Goat was hot but Thursday not so hot. Cutties wanted the 1.8" Old Goat silver and silver/gold. Ok fine. We ended up bringing 5 or 6 fish to the boat in about 3 hours. We both took 1 home, C&R the others.
Pretty straight forward set up, no bait/no scent, 1.8" silver or silver/gold Old Goat about 20-24 inches behind a 5 inch flasher, 75-100 feet back, 20-25 down, speed appx 1.5-2 mph. The Old Goats have really been getting it done for me lately. Sure has cut my worm bill down to nothing. Love it!
I thought the fish in the pic had a full belly of smolt or something but when I cleaned it yikes! Seemed to be full of some kind of long stringy tumors. Has anybody else seen this? guess I should have taken a pic.
Tight Lines!!!
Randy
