Fished for Smallmouth bass and did really well. Lots of dinks biting but did get 5 over 14". One was 3.25lbs. Water is stained and about 8' above normal summer level. We did see a large kokanee roll near the boat. Very silver and looked healthy from afar. Mosquito's were a problem except when there was a breeze.

Nice report. Love that lake! Beautiful scenery and lots of smallies.

I also love Palmer. Mountain goats on the cliffs and quail clucking. I don't think the "new" boat launch improved the fishing any. My first time on Palmer was also my first 50 fish day. Alas, most were dinks. I learned (eventually) not to set the hook on them and found the key to finding the bigger fish. My previous PB Smallie was from Palmer, 4 lb. 12 oz. New PB is 5 even from a small lake on the Westside, about 10 miles from my house. :)
