Battled the wind all day. Got to an area with some surrounding vegetation to break the breeze. I really dislike the homes on this lake because they've torn the forest down which allows the wind to be a huge disadvantage when it blows through. Noticed fish surfacing. Had an equipment malfunction with my line getting wrapped around an eyelet after casting a crankbait. While getting line untangled a fish grabbed the lure off the surface. Wrapped himself in weeds but my flourocarbon (mono or flouro, can't stand braided) ripped right through the vegetation and pulled out a nice fish. Decided to tie on a Heddon Spook Jr. First cast and some walk the dog and slam first fish missed. Casted it couple more times and slammed with a hook set. Caught 6 fish in about 20 minutes. Other than that the wind sucked and blew me off the lake. It did stir up the surface and when it settled caused the fish to come up. Once the sun came out the lure wasn't as effective. Gotta get out earlier next time.
