Here comes the milfoil :(

Water level is dropping and the weeds are growing as we enter summer. The milfoil is about one foot under the surface in most areas so it won't be much longer until the lake starts to choke up. I started at the islands as there were boats fishing along the launch shore. Circling the first island with a swimbait got the first strike of the day and that fish was a 2.5. Cruised around the area for a bit, the water is really stained in 95% of the lake from what I believe to be a brown algae bloom?

I went around the corner from the launch and started easing back into the pads and then the green dollar pads. Water was clearer back here. Frogs and fish were all over in here (small fish). Continued back towards the island with the logs in front of it and was only about 2-3 feet deep, made a cast by the log with a frog and FISH ON! Good one, 4.5+, then FISH OFF! She threw me and disappeared. Continued towards the west shoreline casting the frog to anything that looked like an opening in the small pads....not much action and then something that escaped from Sea-World jumped clean out of the water and OVER my frog! Seriously, easy 6+ with it's tail in the air looking at my frog! I threw back in as I did not have a follow up bait ready like a dummy and twitched the frog erratically like it was injured, the bass swirled once and that was the end of the excitement for the day.

I went back by the outlet but this is the epicenter of the milfoil and I almost didn't get out. I flipped a couple baits in a couple areas but nothing doing. Not sure if I will make it back to Terrell before it closes in October, get burned out fighting the milfoil once it turns to surface carpet.
