So the wife and I spent the whole week leading up to Memorial Day at Riffe. Monday -Friday at Mossyrock, and Friday-Monday at Taidnapam. Lake levels being what they are (down 30') it is a whole new game fishing there for coho. Boat launches at both parks were usable (we have a 20' Duckworth), however I would recommend Taidnapam North as backing down at Mossyrock is like backing down 200' of railroad ties. Tuesday the 23rd was the first day we fished, we traveled about halfway up the lake and started trolling our usual dodger hoochie combos with shrimp from 20'-40' down on the scotty's and 125' back with little to no results in a couple hours so started switching things up. Put a pink wedding ring on behind a simons dodger on the wifes' pole, I ran a pink splatter dodger followed by a copcar needlefish spoon and only dropped down about 7' on the riggers. In 5 minutes mine got a take down and a short battle ensued including a nice top water dance but unfortunately ended in a long release as he gave me the fin. 10 minutes later I got another take down and another long release. ( thinking I need to put a swivel between the spoon and hook just like my spoons for the salt) I switched over to a criplure behind my dodger at this point but got no action on that. 1/2 hour later the wifes pole goes off and she gets a nice 16" hen. Fished another hour or so with no success called it a day. Wednesday we tried our usual areas closer to the dam with no success, wind picked up early and the lake was covered with white caps so we called it an early day. Talked to a couple guys in the campground who said they had got limits further up the lake on Tue. using ford fenders and wedding rings. So Thursday we headed way up the lake to give that a shot and ended up with 5 fish, 4 of which were 14"-16" shorty being about 12" but all nice and fat and no parasites visible. Fished Sat.+Sun. with similar results.

Nice looking fish. Thanks for the report, I have been wondering how the fishing was on the lake given the lower levels this year.
