So I fixed my trolling motor issue and decided to give Ward lake another go for Kokanee. I hate to say it but I tried from the surface down to 45 feet and no hungry Kokanee to be found. I gave this report a 5 rating because I got into some nice Cutthroat and Rainbows today! I decided on fishing the nerka bug today. I used a pink one, and I also put out a orange crankbait. I must say that the nerka bug out fished the crankbait, However the crankbait hooked two of the largest fish of the day. I found most of the action 18-24 feet. I hooked between 25-30 fish. I decided after catching two smaller trout to just not use a piece of corn on my nerka bug so I could release the fish and continue looking for kokanee. Corn is not a big deal anyway when fishing for Kokanee it just acts as a holder for the scent you use. I have caught numerous kok's without corn. Due to the action I was getting from the trout on the bug, I figured better go naked so I can fish longer. Overall the action was great with a few double hook ups, I wasn't upset that I didn't run into any kokanee, since I was hooking some nice quality fish. I took my go pro out with me today, captured a double hook up but not sure if I can upload it on here or not. I am uploading it to youtube if anyone is interested.
