Hit the lake about 11:30 wanted to see if my home made down rigger worked. Dropped the down rigger weight down to about 7 or 8 feet and had a fish on with in 5 minutes. I was using a sling blade rainbow colors one side and chrome on the other with a pink side and white side dick nite behind it. It didn't seem to matter what sling blade or dick nite I had on the fish were hitting everything on the down rigger. The shallow set up didn't get as much action unless the sun went behind a cloud. Caught five fish 1 at 10", 3 at 11", and one at 12". Lost a lot of fish though. Trolled between the three points about a 100 yards in front of the dock in a zigzag or circular pattern.

Did you run into any issues getting lake salad on your lines? Every time I drop below 5 feet, unless I fish the deeper part of the lake along the north shore, I am always getting hung up on gunk and having the clean my lines a lot.

Only on the far point. I think I got to close to the shore otherwise I stayed in the middle of the three points and didn't have any problems. I put a hot spot on the report but it didn't save. If you go straight out from your April report towards the back cove that's where I many trolled. What type of battery does your Lowrance fish finder run off of?

I use a 12v 9ah battery. It has lasted 3 days of fishing without having to charge it. But I am not running a trolling motor off it since I am pedaling a Hobie.
