Plenty of people and boats on the water, but only saw a handful of fish taken. I tried all of the gear that brought me substantial success in that lake last season, but failed to get a single strike. It looked like most boats were in a similar funk. I wasn't running a sonar, so I don't know if the fish were running shallower than I typically fish.

The trout are running very shallow. I marked fish last night at 15-30 but couldn't get them to bite. Running gear higher between 10-5' I was able to get 4 to the boat.

That's good to know, thanks! I normally try to troll in the 25-30' range to get below the smaller fish. Normally, that has yielded some nicer fish. Next time out I'll definitely have to run the sonar.

You were right, yerp. Running about 4-5 feet deep is the current recipe for success.
