My daughter (one of her first fishing experiences) and I fished Cavanaugh in our float tubes yesterday morning from about 8:00 to 11:00. Hardly any strikes to my fly and only one 8" rainbow which if you can believe was caught by my daughter trolling power bait. I found the power bait in an old tackle box in my attic and although the bottle was not dated it must have been at least 5 years old but I decided to bring it anyway. I think it was beyond "power" at this point possibility toxic because the one fish she caught died in my arms as I was trying to release it. We both felt bad that we could not resusitate the trout as it slowly sank to the depths of Cavanaugh. As the water skiers and jet skiers were getting closer and closer to our float tubes we decided to leave before we met the same fate as our trout. All in all, a nice day for father/daughter bonding in a nice lake that normally has been very good to me.
