I had a free day to explore, so i hit a new river today, which i wont mention its name. My target was bulls and maybe a steel (a bit early for steel for this system) it was raining pretty hard and the river was a high and fast, vis started at 2ft this morning and cleared to about 3ft by noon, first 4 kms of river produced nothing at all. Then i found some frog water around noon and got my 1st hit of the day, and landed a fat bully of roughly 20" swinging a 2/5oz gold/silver bcsteel spoon. Shortly there after i lost my motivation and called it a day. Had a nice time checking out a new river and will certainly try it again later.

It most certainly is bull country here mr. Fishdude, i find most people i run into on these rivers are mostly targeting them right now. I should also mention river ettiquitte is the norm not the exception here too, unlike in the us. If you are fishing a run here, no one will fish that same run with out asking permission, and if they do and you agree they fall in at the top of the run and let you work the run first. Its amazing how different things are only 200 miles north of where i was living.

Theres a few holes where one could talk smack up here. Definately let me know when youll be up, ill show you some spots, should be good for steel and bulls in the rivers by then.

Nice, I never have them jump though. Plus, I hate when you let some one fish behind you and they catch fish. Also, it's one item on my bucket list to fish in Canada fish steel.

jonb, it's nice to know that river etiquette is still alive somewhere :)
