When I post reports I don't give specific locations , either. I figure that I'm already doing everyone interested in that fishery a favor by telling them the bite is on and what is working. You want everything handed to you on a platter? Go hire a guide, exchanging information is what this site is about, I didn't see anything that said you had to hand out maps to do other fishermen a solid. Giving someone a hard time because you want it all is not cool. Bob R

Here's what I learned:
1) Bite is good on FDR, up higher.
2) Jigging is the technique that is producing, with grubs, worms, and swimbaits. Color doesn't matter much just change up until you find what they want. If they stop biting, change colors again until you get the bite going but give green a try.
3) Blade baits are not producing very well.
Here's a question that the OP might answer that I would find valuable without disrespecting him by asking for a location....what depth were you finding fish CCTMark?
Location is information usually earned by putting in time. So go put in the time.

4/11/2017 12:43:00 PMBack eddies have been the key and will be as long as the water is so low. Depth has varied from 10-45 FOW depending on which back eddy we have been fishing. Walleyes spawn pretty shallow so fishing in 50 - 60 FOW is not ideal this time of year. Walleyes aren't stupid and will only fight the current if they have to so current edges near back eddies are the place to be. I would actually give out more info but I respect the request from my buddies not to be too specific. We have concentrated on three very small areas in the last few weeks that will only hold a couple of boats at best so having 15 guys show up wouldn't help anyone. 4/11/2017 3:41:00 PMCCTMark, thanks for the report. Plenty of information; FDR is a huge piece of water and there's plenty of "honey holes" although they change some. Can anyone tell me how the launch is at Fort Spokane! I've got cabin fever so bad I'm not so sure I wouldn't just shove the boat down to the river over rocks if I had to. I gotta get out.

My partner and I have had a great winter fishing season as well. We primarily use blades which seem to catch bigger fish. Our biggest this winter was just over 14. 4 fish over 10 and lots of 7lb +. 20 to 25 fish days was not uncommon.

It is interesting on the reports posted that if someone goes fishing and they do not fill the boat most of the time they rate the trip as a poor or unsuccessful trip. I would think any time your fishing it's a good trip they should never be rated on the quantity but more on the overall success did you see anything that let you enjoy nature? That is a 5 any day.

4/11/2017 8:29:00 PMSo I've noticed a few comments lately where the person that posted is being harassed for not providing enough "location". Not cool and be aware these types of comments will result in immediate bans. Harassing members that actually post reports is totally not cool.
