Buddy and me headed down to the Longview boat launch (which is awesome). linked up with a couple of awesome guys that fish the heck out of the Columbia! Put the boat in around 9am and headed out to several holes. This being the 1st time I have ever fished the Columbia. We marked lots of bait fish... several large arches around the 40ft mark (probably Salmon), and a few somewhat large marks on the bottom (around 60ft). The water is really high and LOTS of debris in the water.. some of them logs. we fished using smelt, shrimp and several other recopies with no luck at all... We "think" one of the guys had a short lived hookup and the rod bent to the water and the dragged squealed... but then nothing... hook line and bait was retrieved. So long story short... we had an awesome time on the water visiting and BS'ing, regardless of not catching fish it was still a fun day on the water!!!
