After three weeks of searching for the elusive walleye we finally found them - couldn't find any trout or
small mouth bass, but we really had fun with the walleye. Size range was 15-19" and they are starting
to pack some meat on their bones and produced some nice filets. We launched at Porcupine, started
the troll up river from the large pump house on the north bank - nothing there so moved on to the #5
can - there were several boats jigging, but not doing much - we were using bottom bouncers with worms
and trying to stay between 30-40 FOW - didn't find anything around the #5 can so moved on up past the
#7 can and headed toward the wall just above the last cabin - BINGO! color was green and chartreuse with
the usual assortment of beads and wedding ring combination - caught on both smile and #3-4 colorado
blades decorated in bright reflector tape - did equally well on slow death as well as #2 hook with a stinger.
There were no fish above the narrows toward the falls, so we worked in and out of the narrows.

Enough walleye in the freezer now for a couple of months so our next trips will be to Keller and the elusive
trout - this will be our first effort/venture out of Keller and are looking forward to learning another fishery.

Great report! Curious how to you tie a stinger onto a slow death hook?

sorry i wasn't clear on that one - stinger only on the #1 or #2 octopus hook - that would be a real trick to add
a stinger to a slow death hook, as well as defeat the purpose. p.s. on the report - kept the troll between .6-.9mph,
tried going a little faster from time to time, but it didn't work. The guys doing the jigging were going a little faster
and were not doing as well. rr
