The Experiment Must Continue

Lately it seems that the first bite comes rather quickly. Well, no such luck today. Today something was "off" and we had to work pretty hard to get our Kokanee. Normally we've been able to pull our limits out of one of a dozen kokanee holes. Today however I had to visit half of those holes to get our fish. Two of those holes gave up nothing including Hanson Harbor which I assumed would have produced due to all attention it gets. Anyway the weather was awesome and we finally got a dozen fish to the boat and had ourselves another fun relaxing day at lake Roosevelt catching some wonderful fishes.
I have a feeling the fish didn't like the water temp going from 50 down to 44 deg. Or they were just taking a break. I talked with several boats that never got a bump.
Fishing continues to be really good for Lake Roosevelt's prized kokanee. I keep hearing that it the best it's been in 13 years. I hope more of you can join me on a trip and experience why I like this fishery so much.
Today's tidbit. I experiment all the time trying to develop better tackle, but not on slow days. On slow days I stick with my "go to " and fish it with confidence. Eventually persistence can even make a fish change its mind.
