Stayed over night at Ft. Spokane Friday night to fish Saturday morning. My brother and I started fishing the mouth of the Spokane and picked up fish in the first 5 minutes. Small fish, in the 14" range. We had three fish in the first 15 minutes of fishing but all this years planter fish. We were after big fish. Made the pass along the south shoreline in the mouth with two more planters. Realized that the mouth seemed to be holding the smaller fish so we ran downstream to A rock across from the Lincoln launch. Started catching fish and they were big! This is what we had been looking for. We caught fish all down the stretch of rocks across from Lincoln.

We were fishing with our downriggers with depths going from 10' down to 17'. We had Kekeda flies on in orange and olive colors tipped with nightcrawler. We started fishing a little after 8 am and had our limit by 11:15. Biggest fish of the day went 22" and a little over 3 lbs., second best was 20" and right at 3 lbs. It was a great day finding big fish to round out our limit. My mom actually prefers the smaller fish so keeping a few of those for her was a good thing. We had three 18" in the bag as well. Really beautiful, sunny day in shorts and a t-shirt for most of it. Fishing seems to be picking up and Kekeda flies were killing them today. Orange beat out the olive on numbers but the olive caught the biggest fish.

Kekeda Tackle Co. is a local company offering high quality trolling flies. The perfect trolling fly for waters around the Pacific Northwest. Offered in a variety of colors at reasonable prices. 509-202-5135

Good job finding the "big uns" Dave! Thanks for the report; glad to see you got out. Can hardly wait to fire up the Kekeda flies myself. I've been working on our new house and I'm just itching to go to Roosevelt....... maybe in the next couple of weeks.

Dave; I finally got it straightened out on how to login today. it was a job! Thank you for the great fishing report. Awesome looking fishy's. I wasn't able to ever get over last winter because of bad back, but this year it is all ahead full. Sounds like I need to come over maybe later in October and again in Dec. I hope.
