Guides have slow days too! They just don't usually talk about it.
We got a little rain yesterday in Brewster. Not much, but enough to cool the water temp down 4 degrees. I was concerned this would affect the bite today. Turns out it did. Overall the majority of anglers struggled to put fish in the boat. We managed to boat 6 while loosing 4 more at the boat. Fishing should rebound in a day or two as long as the weather is stable and warm. Brewster has been incredible this year so far. I am looking forward to many more awesome days. I hope some of you will join me. I can teach you a lot in a short amount of time - and it's nice to have your own driver navigating 200 other boats on the water. If you are making a trip here on your own, plan on giving yourself an extra 45 min to launch or load your vessel. The crowds have been brutal, but the fishing has been well worth it.
These fish are in amazing shape. Bright red meat on every fish. I am looking forward to my next sockeye dinner. Check out my Facebook page for daily reports. Give it a "like" for current updates.
