No on water pics to accompany yesterday's report just a shot of fish in the cooler after I got home. Was waiting for a nice carryover and we didn't find one by the time we filled our limits.

Pulled in to Seven Bays about 9:00 and no vehicles in the parking lot. Cool. Launched and had lines in the water by 9:30. I hooked up less than 10 minutes later, and then again, and again. Had 3 in the cooler when my buddy finally hooked up, hmm, same thing happened on our last outing. I had my limit in the cooler in just over an hour, with my buddy sitting on one. He hooked up again, then the bite seemed to shut down. The chop had gone away and the surface was almost glass smooth.

I know my area well, so I worked it good hitting all the spots I know produce. The slow bite and having already put my limit in the cooler gave me some seat time to get acquainted with the new electronic gear. The Raymarine DownVision/SideVision is awesome! Will need some more on the water time to fine tune transducer position, but I'm thoroughly impressed.

Yesterday's hot bait was a Rip'n Minnow 65 in perch and it accounted for 5 in the cooler. An all orange Kekeda tallied 3 and a Frisky Jenny Trick r Treat caught 2. Flies tipped with a piece of worm and we troll right at 3mph. It was overcast and foggy the whole time we were on the water. Surface temp was 40.6°. I found a pocket of 'bows near shore early and we stayed on them until the bite seemed to go away. Then I put the SideVision to work and targeted marks for my buddy to finish his limit, twice resulting in fish in the cooler. :-)

Though it took a little while, my buddy finished his limit, we stowed gear and headed for the launch. All nice chunky 'bows with 2 @ 15.5" and the rest 16" - 17" and pushing 2lbs. We only saw 3 other boats while on the water and one more rig in the parking lot after returning to the launch. Put the boat back in the barn and headed for home pulling in the driveway just after 3:00. ;-)

Still no Kok's showing in the Rosie reports by any angler. Perhaps they are deeper than thought. All long line fishing - fish still in the top 15'?
Rosie rainbows don't disappoint at this time of the year. Happy New Year Phil. MtnGrizz

mtngrizz - Ooops, forgot to add that info tidbit. Yes indeed leaded line/fly combo out 150' and mono/plug combo 195'. Trolling speed was 3mph, so absolutely in the top 15'. Happy New Year to you too!! :-)

afk - Loving the new gear, image quality is amazing.

Alan - I'll be watching for your report.

Time to load the smoker. ;-)

I'll work on it next time out Ken, maybe next week if weather and my schedule cooperate. My fishing buddy isn't big on picture taking and I usually have to twist his arm for a pic or two. :-)

hewesfisher can you give me some directions on how to get to the Goat Farm? Please.

I'd be happy to, but I honestly don't know that specific spot, at least by that name. There are many terms used by long time locals for areas I fish, but since I don't know ALL of the local jargon, goat farm, haystack, 25 mile, and several more, I'm unable to help. :-(
