Took out Dan and Tim a first time Burbot fisherman for a little morning action. We fished Porcupine Bay for three limits in a little over two hours. Weather was snowing and cold...We are booking trips for after the first of the year. Fish are ranging from 2-6lbs right now.

I am curious what the Burbot fight is like on rod and reel. Like a Walleye?

They pull harder than a walleye and actually more fun to catch I think. They are awesome eating fish, called poor mans lobster. Limit is 5 fish per person any size. Same gear you would use for walleye.

I suppose the depth is the difference between catching walleye and burbot.... Are they deep this time of year?
