Launched at around 10:15 and motored upstream to the area just across from Two Rivers. My friend wanted to fish there as he and some buddies did well there last Friday. We caught our limits in about 2 1/2 hours trolling flies on leaded line. I also caught a bonus in addition to my trout limit a 17 1/4" kokanee that weighed 2lbs, 3ozs. The 'bows were all 15" - 15 1/2" and very chunky.

Trolling speeds ranged from 2.5 - 3.1mph, water surface temps have dropped, and are now in the 61° range. I tipped the Trick r Treat Frisky Jenny with a piece of worm and my friend was using grubs on his muddler style single hook fly. I also trolled a Rip'n Minnow on mono 195' behind the boat and is what the kokanee hit.

Nice day, a little sun, but mostly overcast and quite calm.

Saw something interesting when I was cleaning fish after returning home. I had what I thought were 3 native trout since the adipose fin was intact, that is until the last one was missing a pectoral fin, just like what happens when they are rubbed against a net. I had heard rumors this was happening at hatcheries on the west side with salmon, but was surprised to see the same thing with rainbow. Now that I've seen it, I'll be watching future catch for more evidence of the same.

Sometimes they don't take the time of money to clip the fins. Normally they clip fins only if they are doing a study or separating planters from natives in the Regs. In this case, sounds like a hatchery fish, but not one grown in a concrete pen.

Never know when you are going to pick up one of those nice kokes. Seems they can hit on anything that is invading their territory. Have you ever figured out how to consistently catch the kokes?

Love those football trout, fun to catch on light tackle. Guess I don't have to get up so early to go...10 AM launch....nice!

Forgot to mention I have seen missing pectoral fins on German Browns both at Weights and Rock lake. Never thought about it being from living in the concrete hatchery tank.

What is the green screen deal, with what looks to be fish stomach contents? On the screen is something slimy, with a green glowing eye? Was that in the stomach of a fish?

Alan - Don't have to get up early to go unless you want to be home early. ;-) We launched about noon last Saturday and the bite was just as good then, actually, it was better. Have never figured out how to consistently catch the kokes, Satisfied, for now, with incidental bycatch.

AA - I'm not aware of any fish released in Roosevelt that come from concrete pens, not saying there aren't, but none I'm aware of. I was under the impression they are all raised in the net pens scattered around the reservoir.

Moto - The "green screen" is my HDPE cutting board and the slimy, green glowing eye is a blood bubble. You've been watching too many Halloween movies. LOL.
