went fishing in tapps july 3rd. first mistake. there are so many skiers that its difficult to fish. plus the pre holiday celebrations were abundant with fat, cat calling women with too much alcohol in there systems.
went with two others via the public entry on the south end of the lake. float tubed for nearly half a mile down one of the many 'fingers' tapps have toward the main lake. this particular one is owned by the puget sound enegery co. and its gated off. but the security guard is nice and will allow you to fish. my friend and myself caught nothing saw nothing. third friend caught a muskie! right as he entered the main lake fished a dock for bass on a rooster tail instead pulled up a 3ft muskie. thought it was dead wood. thing didn't fight at all. being in a float tube, didn't want to touch the thing and luckily the fish broke off the line and swam away. We will most likely be back, but with a boat. there is so much terrain here that you need to be highly mobile, float tube doesn't cut it.
if you find a muskie with a rooster tail you know where its from.
good luck.
