Took the family out for what will probably be our last camping trip of the year and headed to Keller Ferry. We went in hopes of catching a few Walleye but we are still trying to figure out how to do that consistently! Catching small Smallies was not a problem but we had no luck with the Walleyes. I know this isn't the best area for them but we did catch some here this summer and had hoped to repeat the feat. Oh well, maybe next time!
As for the Rainbow trout, there were lots of boats trolling from the "tire" to the bend in the river (just go out of the marina, hang a left, go about 1/4 mile, it's on the shore on your left, cant miss it, continue down that side until the river takes a hard right). They seemed to have their best luck towards the bend. We watched a boat next to us overcome crossed/tangled lines and boat a large fish. We also saw evidence in the dumpster of lots of big 'Bows and were offered several by fellow campers. We turned them down, however, because we seem to be the only people on the planet that don't like to eat them! The Walleye sure are tasty though...if you can catch them!
