Went to my little honey hole today with the 2 older children. Lots of snow and ice. Ice was 9". Drilled 6 holes and pulled fish out of 5 of them. Kids hooked into some fish right away. Then Got cold and bored. I was pulling fish left and right with the pimple. Got 3 different species of fish. All with the little pimple. First bass and crappie of 2017. The bite died off towards dark and started moving holes back to the sled. Last hole, drop the ducer down and see marks towards the top. Figure what the hell. Start jigging the pimple, mark gets bigger. I miss hits 4 times in a row and he stays around. 2 minutes later my UL rod doubles over and a sunny darn near bigger then the hole pops out. 9 3/4". I'm freaking out , kids are freaking out because I am. Good day. And a good fish to end the night on. I normally don't keep fish. But this one is going on the wall. Embrace the suck long enough, and good things will happen.
