OK.. so this is a little pond/lake in my local, which I can't give up the name. But that being said... today was a very nice time. This lake is the collection point of a bunch of the cities storm water runoff. You would thing.. Yuck! no fish. But,on the contrair mo-frair. This pond is somehow stocked/managed by a local community group. There are rainbows in here in the 12" range. The community group also has signs posted, saying that they have planted some species of salmon... Coho maybe? They ask for you to please release any fish. So all of this sounds like a dream..? This past Sept. I fished the pond. There was a guy with a couple of 12" trout on hand. He showed me a pic. of 4-5 lb salmon, hook nose ta boot. I know that it was legit, because the background reflected the same bushes, etc. He also said that another girl had caught " A very large similar "Trout" recently as well.."
Well, anyway, last Sept. in my float tube I was slaying the 12" trout.

Today I went out, about 0800. maybe 45 degrees air temp. No sign of fish on the surface. Pond was 50% down from Sept. 80% of the pond was literally 3-4' deep. Maybe 20% was 6-8' deep. I made repeated passes dragging my fly through the deeper channel. I caught/released two rainbows about 12". They were thick and healthy.
I lost another 4-5 to missed hook sets.
No large salmon species did I witness, but it is a funny place. A few dog walkers come in for their walk. They look at you like they can't believe you are in a float tube in the middle of this city pond.--- but, heck ya, I'm catching fish!
On the negative end.. I am pretty sure that I left my cell phone there, with the pics. I pay 7 dollars a month for any type of replacement of phone, however I'm too lazy to walk back into this lake to look for it. I guess I'll be looking for a new cell phone?
