Went on an alpine lake hiking/camping trip with a few friends. Ended up at a lake in the east Cascade range. Fly fished from the shore which wasn't too productful. A ton of small 5-7 inchers would hit the royal coachman. Half spit them out. Caught about 4 little ones, all C&R without harm. Definitely going to go back with a float tube, as another person who showed up with one caught a nice 15" Cutthroat(my friend has a few pics on his camera of the fish) casting and retrieving fake eggs mid lake. Black pattern fly would of been best, but didnt bring much tackle on this adventure. No pics of fish, I left my camera back at camp and carried my pistol instead as this is bear/cougar country. Should have another report of this lake come a few months.
