Went out to my favorite little lake today trying for some delicious red meat trout and maybe some LM Bass. Started trolling to the mouth of an unnamed creek and near there I anchored and started fishing for the big one's, Clear bobber 2 ft leader with 2lb test and a whole nightcrawler with no weight. I immediately caught a nice 14in Bow. I cast out again, and right after I had cleaned it I caught a nice 11 in Cuttie, both on the setup with 2lb leader a clear bobber, and a full nightcrawler. After that I let a full nightcrawler with no weight 5ft down and free drifted, and in about 10 min was rewarded with a nice 14in Cuttie. After that I only landed one small bass, but it was my first LM bass. All fish were caught with the rod in the photo, proving you don't need a very expensive rod to catch fish. Free rod + Free reel = enough extra cash to save up for a boat.
It was nice that I was the only boat on the whole lake, but because of the weather it is easy to see why. Rainy and windy it was very hard to row, on days like I would recommend using an electric motor. Nothing off power bait, and nothing of anything accept a whole nightcrawler. No hawgs today, but maybe next time.
