I've been sworn to secrecy about the location of this lake under penalty of pain and suffering from a Marine Major who takes his fishing as seriously as his physical fitness.
The lake is in the desert of Grant County and contains Rainbow Trout. When I got to the lake today, I saw several trout rising, though my efforts to "match the hatch" failed.
I took to my spinning gear and on my first cast was rewarded with a 16 inch Rainbow. "This will be easy", I thought. Two hours later, I caught and released my second fish, a beautiful 19 incher of about w pounds. So much for easy! To make matters worse, I dropped my wife's nice camera into the lake, and I don't think it's going to be taking too nice of pictures anymore.
Having said that, it was a great day! Two nice fish, some quality time with the lab pup, and a chance to get out on the water.
The weather was mild, in the low 40's, with partly sunny skies and light winds. I hope this is a good sign for the March First opener in Central Washington!
