Fished a secret lake, well not overly secret to those in the know, over the aug.8-10 weekend. Spent plenty of time c&r ing small brookies and rainbows. This lake is a rare gem. it is a medium elevation(3000 ballpark) lake that you can drive to, albeit a very interesting drive on nasty roads. The scenery around the lake and on the drive in was absolutely spectacular. Nothing but old growth surrounding the lake (some are probably in the 300-400yr. old range). The primary campsite sits next to the outlet stream and has a concrete apron with brick cook stove, kinda nice out in the middle of nowhere, and the inlet stream is directly across the lake. There is a trail around the lake, but has some rather large blowdown(10ft. across) over the trail in several areas. Well I have said enough, and no I won't give out too many details - too many people are gutsy enough like myself to put yourself and your truck at jeopardy just to fish remote areas. There was also some (not horrendous) trash left by inconsiderate people. This lake has know been fairly well cleaned up by myself and a good buddy, hopefully it will stay that way for a while to come. FISH ON!
