I must say first that if you don't like lots of people around you when fishing, the barrier dam is not a good choice. But if you are willing to accept the challenges and give fellow fisherman a little consideration, it can pay off. I did only give this a three because most of the fish I saw caught were worn out chinooks, although a surprising number were hooked in the mouth. From what I saw, the only ones snagged were by accident, which is inevitable up here. Try all you want, even the best fisherman snag an old boot on occasion. So after getting rained on a few times, and not seeing much to get excited by, I was considering leaving. Then out of the blue came a smashing strike and a bright summer steelhead catapulted out of the river and then ran off downstream. three more times it came out, and I finally caught up with it and let it wear itself out after getting my line over a line of ducking fisherman. Nice hatchery hen steelhead. Not what I planned to catch, but no complaints here.
