Skykomish River drift, nice and cold morning! Wind was howling , pushing the drift boats around making casting a challenge. River is fairly low and very clear above the clay banks. Started out with beads and jigs under float. Nothing until the day started to warm up a bit under the sun. Decided to pull a stretch of plugs and found the first taker, a nice little 6lber. Went back to the top and hit the slot again and produced zero. Did see another set of gents boat one. Seen them down the river and shared what plug they were using, same color scheme as us, char/blue 3.0 mag lip. Worked on down river and hit one more on a yarnie. At the take out talked to some other guys that also had landed a few. All in all good productive day on the sky. ( note to drift boaters, upper drift is getting very low. You will be dragging your boat over areas. The river has changed from last year. If you don't know the route please take a walk and see the obsticles prior to rowing through them.
May the steelhead gods bless you,

DT

Thanks for the report. Seems like most Sky reports are more of a novel. Nice to get right to the point. after all it's not rocket science. where, when and how is great.

Haha Predator1 I was thinking the same thing. I read these on the toilet and don't have time to read a 14 page soliloquy to the beauty of fishing to find out that one fish was caught.

Thanks for the report!

Been fishing these rivers since the 70s. We just pounded the rivers and got up and did it again the next day. No fancy language or bobbers. We would actually feel the bite.
