Not very many Chum around, few small groups. So if you want to battle 30- 80 people in a small creek who dont care about fishing etiquette and love to snag fish....then this is your creek. most people are useing green yarn set ups but really just need a sharp hook and good timing so when people run up and down the creek to scare the fish out of the holes. bring plenty of gear so when people cast over you can have plenty of reties. Or when people look through your gear to barrow something. Good luck and have fun.

Did Minter once a few years ago. Won't fish it again. I use the term "fish" lightly..

Just use 65# braid. That will cut everyone else off. Just kidding. If you go on face book check out Washingtonsteelhead jig junkies or heavy trebles.

I call it harvesting. Come prepared and don't expect an epic fight. Get your smoker meat and eggs and go home.

snagging fish and jumping over people for fish is NOT HARVESTING, battleing people who dont care about no one but them selves is not worth it just for some chum. Im going to wait for winter steelhead, ive got better things to do then battle people who call them selves fishermen because they snag a few chum.

if you're looking for a bit of solitude on minter, walk out past the lower hole on an incoming tide. I did pretty good out by the mouth when I used to fish there. #3 spinners usually got me a few bumps.

I was there last week. I brought my fly rod. fishing a fly allowed me to fish skinnier water, got away from the ususal "holes" hooked a couple fish and was able to land one. Made it a little more interesting than hooking and horsing them on to the shore. I May try spokey9 advice and move farther out toward the mouth next time
