10/7/2015 11:21:00 AMJust above the tidal zone wading in the middle of the river. Actually, drifting the bottom with a weight not float but everyone else is doing that. Got another smaller buck this morning, bigger than jack size though. Caught 8 jacks, they were hammering my bait…unfortunately!

Your report made me remember that a little weight has often been better for me than a float- it is more natural and closer to the bottom. I lose more gear, but there is less line mending. Just have to get closer to where the fish are holding.
I talked to a guy who has fished the salt and the Snoho a long time and he thinks this rain will bring in the bulk of the coho, especially the bigger ones. My last silver caught 2 years ago was 12# and the biggest I've landed.

10/7/2015 3:29:00 PMI’ve not lost a hook doing this method where I’m fishing, sandy/gravel bottom with few snags. Its quite refreshing from the last MONTH of tossing $20 of jigs/dick nites at the river every visit. Seems simplest is often best, just look at a corky which costs next to nothing either and even floating with eggs doesn’t lose that much gear. I’m just learning this stuff, being a non-native PNW’er.
In terms of size, I’ve seen a few over 10lb this year, mine have been mainly around 6-8lb. They all taste great so far!

10/7/2015 5:25:00 PMI caught one that went 28 1/2" it could very well have been 10lbs.. my largest ever was 16# on the scale, wallace river.

10/7/2015 6:19:00 PMGoldrigger. Google "suicidal bunny twitching jig" and learn to tie that pattern on a 1/4 or 3/8 oz head. Do purple and black colors. You will slay.

10/7/2015 8:06:00 PMIdentical to yesterday but got 2 after work to hit the limit. All bucks. I saw an enormous coho caught on a green corky, like the biggest ive seen since ive been fishing here ( only a couple of years BTW)

Fun fishing right now - caught a 5 lb Bull trout Sat morning along with my silvers. Released unharmed, had a million spots and beautiful white tips on it's fins. Slightly hooked jaw looked like a dark silver till I landed it.

10/7/2015 10:41:00 PM@goldrigger, I like rabbit fur in shallow snaggy water because it sinks slower. I preffer maribou in deep water because its easier to keep near bottom in the strike zone, black and purple is great but white, chartreuse/purple, straight purple, white and blue also have pulled coho fir me this year. That 28 1/2" I caught this year didnt get weighed id estimate it to be roughly 10lbs though, the purpose of mentiining is to let you all know big fish are already in the system

10/7/2015 10:44:00 PM@oceansun correct on the limit, and good move releasing that bull, although it is legal to keep them in the sno/sky. Take it from me, bull trout are very oily and dont taste very good.. chum salmon is better..again good job oceansun
