9/20/2015 8:18:00 AMYeah I read a lot of your post jonb sounds like you kill it out there I was doing well when that huge school came in like two weeks ago down lower but man the fish at Thomas eddy a lot looked like they are ready to spawn and not really biting anything I've also tried diffrent presentations I was hoping to stock up freezer for smoking and watching football but it seems it has been dead on the low end and like I said they are thick upstream but not wanting to bite I hooked one in the tail and released it and some guy next to me said why did u release it I was like it's in the tail he said so like what the hell dude

9/20/2015 2:36:00 PMHein, I've had a few situations like you mention. It gets slower and for me it is the sun or water level. I've gone smaller and caught a few, but not hot at that time. I try pink and purple in a 1/8th oz jig and sometimes use a bobber to get it way out there. If that doesn't work I put on a mariboo fly in dark colors and add a split shot about 10" from the fly to get it down. That has got me a quick fish or two, but it slows again. The fly is effective if I move around since it is kind of slow all over. Funny how they will nail the fly harder than a jig.
