Pink Salmon

Fished with my dad. It was rather slow in the morning but it picked up in the afternoon. We caught our limits and lost 4. I'm very new to jigging but I'm starting to love it. I think it helps a lot when you use light gear.

Congratulations on a great day out with your dad. However, your decision to not disclose this "magical" location is disappointing to me. It seems to me that the point on this site is to share information that helps other anglers, not to gloat and "stick-it-to-others". I guess you want to keep 6.8 million Pinks all to yourself. Smacks of selfishness!!!

Completely agree with you Stan. 6.8 million pinks returning. Most of us work all week with a chance of maybe one day to fish if we are lucky.

This website is not called revealyourspot dot com. I'm surprised to see you guys so upset. Good luck out there!

its a small spot, can fit maybe 6 guys.. if its said out in the open, odds are itll be the last time you get to fish that spot this year. its not a huge area to fit hordes of people.. if it could fit a bunch of people id be all for it, but its just not the case.

it is a pretty magical spot though, aptly named the smacktalk hole, so many fish have been caught there this year, bloodbath... but its not the only productive spot on the river, get out there and find your own hot spot, plenty of fish all over to be jonesing over this spot. like you guys said, 6.8 million salmon, ill tell you now theyre not all in this 40' section of river

One of the articles in this month's Northwest Fishing Newsletter is entitled, "The Art of Mentoring". I could care less about your "magical spot"... have caught all the Pinks I need this year in the salt... any Pink that makes it past the first 100 yards up from the mouth of the river isn't fit for more than "dog food" ... my opinion! Just commenting on an attitude among some would-be "elitist" types that think they are God's gift to us all because of their amazing prowess at catching used up salmon! Not much "mentoring" attitude here!

the only elitist attitude i see is yours stansjoy, clearly us river fisherman are below you and eat "dog food" . as for mentoring ive taught at least a dozen people this month how to twitch jigs, most of them complete strangers, ive even givin out personal gear if they were lacking, for example, i saw a family snagging, i fished next to them correctly set the example, gave them some gear and took the time to teach that family how to fish correctly, a dad and 2 boys, they now are ethically fishing, catching fish in the mouth, what have you done?
as far asvthe prowess comment, that was sarcasm, an inside joke amongst some friends, perhaps you thought i was being serious? either way, i think youve made several bad assumptions and forgive you for all of them.

Stansjoy, as you wrote yourself this is only your opinion. No need to offend others here.

chill out guys, if someone wants to keep a spot to himself that is his choice. Let's all agree it's been another Epic Pink Season and move on. Bring on the coho!
