Had a great day! Put in at Cady park and half drifted, half slow trolled down past Farmer's Riffle. I saw all the bank and wading fishermen where I normally fish. It was an odd perspective being in the boat and I instantly understood huge advantage over bank fishing (I'm new to the boat thing). We anchored up just downstream from the sand bank and just slayed it - got 8 within a couple hours (as well as numerous hook-ups that we didn't land - still great fun!). They're rolling hard and coming through thick right now. Don't put off going until next week (although they'll likely still be coming then too). They're bright right now and good quality meat especially for the smoker.

Not trying to hate on you too hard, and thanks for the report.... But, the surface temp in the river is about 68* right now. You really shouldn't keep your fish on a stringer unless you want them turning to mush. Bonk, Bleed, into the Cooler on ICE. Standard Pink operating procedure.

Thanks for the report.

First: 10' boat - no room for a cooler. Second: Fish kept alive on the stringer, bled just before we pull in.
I try to make things work for what I have - thanks for passing on your knowledge. I'm aware about maintaining fish quality integrity, but sometimes you just gotta be more primitive because you have no other choice.
