My neighbor and I decided to use single man pontoon rafts on the Duwamish River on Sunday to beat the parking problem at the Indian launch. We put in at the park and worked our way upstream to the main pool. Lots of boats, kayaks, and shore fisherman working the area. High tide was at 12:55 pm. We started fishing about 9:30am. Saw a few fish caught as we were moving up to the pool. When we got to the pool, saw two fish caught by a boater and a kayaker using pink jigs. I caught my first pink at 11:00am, and then another at 12:30pm. Left the pool and started working back to our launch site. At river marker 52, I saw two fish caught, so we stopped to fish and picked up another two fish. Another boat was casting close to the shore and was getting multiple fish. All the pinks were in the 15 to 19 inch range but fought real well. Small pink jigs seemed to be the lure of choice. Shore fisherman were not getting as many fish as the floaters. Saw the occasional Chinook jumping.
