June 2, 2005. Fishing solo, I launched my small boat onto Pierce County's Jackson Lake for a couple hours of bass fishing. This is a small lake and can be fished in 2 to 3 hours of fishing. The weather was cool and overcast. On my 2nd cast of the morning, only a few feet from the launch area, I hooked up with a nice, plump 14 incher. The bass hit a floating Rapala. The fish was released immediately after measuring and I continued around the shoreline. I hooked about a dozen small bass, between about 6 inches and 11 inches. All hit Rapalas and all were released. A nice quiet morning on a small lake. I was the only angler there.
