First time attempting the Skagit. We arrived by the soccer fields about 7am and saw a couple of guys leaving with 2-3 fish. We headed down to the bar and tried to figure out what we were doing. Aside from the ones we saw leaving it didnt look like anyone was having any luck. After an hour or so we moved back down to the railroad bridge. Saw evidence that one had been caught but did not see anyone get anything, or see anyone leaving with any fish. Met a few nice folks that were willing to share advice with 3 NEWBIES. May or may not have had a few bites, as one pole was pulled off the cooler that was holding it up and another was whipped off the stick/rodholder. Guy near by said it looked like a bite, I think it could have been a stick floating past and caught the lines. Too new, dont know for sure. No fish caught, but for sure picked up some new knowledge, and it was a beautiful day, Bald Eagle hanging out in the tree across the river, and a young eagle made one fly by checking out the water, should have been a sign when he didnt stick around. Lots of talk about the low clear water, one guy came from Duvall hoping for better conditions than the Sky.
